Denim Day 2013

Edge Denim Day

October 4th was National Denim Day, and Edge joined the movement!

This fundraiser, created by Lee Jeans, is one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer in the nation. Over the last seventeen years, denim-clad participants have helped to raise more than $89 million for the fight against breast cancer. This year, funds will support the American Cancer Society in discovering new ways to prevent, find, and cure breast cancer – all while ensuring access to mammograms and providing free support to people affected by the disease.

Breast cancer is widespread in the United States, with devastating effects. About one in eight women in the United States develop breast cancer in their lifetimes. In 2013 alone, about 230,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Of those, over 40,000 women will die from the cancer. To show our support for those who are on the front lines of the battle against breast cancer, the Edge team broke out the denim. In addition to zipping up, Edge also made a donation on behalf of each staff member.
