Traditional advertising on the decline? Don’t throw outdoor under the bus!

There is something strangely satisfying about seeing your work on the side of a huge bus as your driving down the road.

    Did you know…

Quite an informative presentation here about the changing media landscape, the use of technology and media convergence. What conclusions might we draw from this regarding advertising and brand awareness?

Totally worth the 4 minutes it takes to watch this – a very effective presentation on how fast things have changed and how dramatic those changes have been. If you’re in denial about the importance of embracing social media platforms and the dramatic changes taking place in traditional marketing, take a look and let it sink in.

This is some very cool national exposure for Vancouver, WA.  Here is the story aired by NBC’s Today Show. They spent quite a bit of time with our friends at Ice Cream Renaissance in Uptown. Nice job Jason and Brandon!

    Small Business Marketing in 2010

This is an interesting read on small business marketing in 2010. Read the article here. I especially like the point she makes that social search has the ability to eclipse the value of traditional SEO efforts in 2010. We have found that to be true. Search engine optimization is ever important, but our clients are also finding great value (and a great response from their customers) in the social media arena.

Perhaps Stephanie will chime in on this.

A key point in this article is how face-to-face time will still be necessary and powerful, but there will be richer ways to “cyber-meet” which, should make us more time-efficient and productive. But I never under value the in person meeting and the genuine exchange that this makes possible. As we become increasingly connected online, using social media as a natural form of habit, it will be all the more essential for businesses to embrace the social media tools available and utilize them as a true reflection of their company’s face-to-face personality. It’s a new way to make a personal contact with your current and potential customers as well as build pride in your workforce. If you aren’t “there yet” – we can help make it happen.
